i was lured by my evil desire for shoes this weekend! i bought three pair on my birthday!
Posted by: joy at April 5, 2005 11:34 AMI'm really enjoying having believing neighbours (sort of hipster evangelicals). It makes me more like Homer Simpson.
Posted by: bwventril at April 5, 2005 12:24 PMooh, i bought shoes this weekend, too! i'm spectacularly evil, though... i bought *4* pairs! i might have a problem.
btw, the more i think about it, the more i wonder if the two sides of the church sign have anything to do with each other, or whether they're independent thoughts.
Posted by: christa at April 5, 2005 10:45 PMChrista dear, do you get out of your car to take these photos? Maybe they are doing it intentionally to check out your new shoes?
When I read the temptation quote, I was like, "Duh!". Here's the def. from dictionary.com.
temptation
n 1: something that seduces or has the quality to seduce [syn: enticement] 2: the desire to have or do something that you know you should avoid; "he felt the temptation and his will power weakened" 3: the act of influencing by exciting hope or desire; "his enticements were shameless" [syn: enticement]
Maybe they are doing one new "church" vocabulary word a week or something?
Your pics gave me a little view of Spring in NC. I miss forsythia. We have two seasons here: Wet/cold and summer/dry/hot.
Cheers!
Posted by: John Boy at April 6, 2005 01:34 PMjohn, i definitely stay IN the car. i'm scared of being confronted by these people. i'm afraid i might be the temptation for their evil desires.
and as for the beautiful spring weather... it's producing more than forsythia. we're sprouting construction. it's everywhere, and i'm allergic to it.
