Grrrr! This sign pisses me off. It's the kind of logic that is sometimes used to address homosexuality and alcoholism. It puts people into catagories of strong enough to overcome or too weak/no willpower. Life isn't black and white like that...or red and blue...or gay and straight...grrrr!
Posted by: John Boy at April 5, 2006 3:58 PMwhy on earth would i want to conquer that? how boring would life be then? i just booked tickets to see zumanity in vegas on our 1 year anniversary... it's all about the sin, baby!
Posted by: joybean at April 5, 2006 4:36 PMoh my goodness, i've never heard of zumanity.

naughty!
Yeah, I'm with JohnBoy--this train of thinking becomes all about individuals being in complete personal control, forcing themselves into unnatural conformity--nobody should have to feel triumphant about that kind of self-denial. (And when someone is ill or disabled, this same kind of church will sometimes say "if you *really* had faith in miracles..." Yuck. Blech.)
