i went back to work today. i was doubting whether or not i should --i've still been feeling pretty spacy-- but i'm glad i did. i felt a little unsteady at the beginning of my shift, and i probably worried too much about stumbling over a few words here and there, but by the end of the 3 hours i was feeling more clear-headed and solid than i had since the TIA occurred on friday.
after i got home i talked on the phone with one of my doctors, who reiterated that my mri results showed no abnormalities. she also told me that my "c reactive protein" blood test came back normal. (we're still waiting on the results of an "ama test", whatever that is.) she would like to see me again in a couple of weeks, before my appointment with the neurologist. she might want to run some more tests, or at the very least would like to see how i'm doing.

So from the text in today's post do I conclude that you've determined you really did have a TIA? Just wondering...

we are going with TIA?
I suppose it's best to return to normal activity, but is there anything you should do? or not?
yes, the doctor did tell me that i had a TIA. she said that "TIA" is really just a clinical diagnosis... kind of a catch-all for any attack like this that lasts less than 24 hours.
i didn't have a full-on stroke, as no clot or aneurysm was found, and i don't have a tumor (i can't help but say that with a schwarzenegger accent), so the only remaining diagnosis is the catch-all "TIA".
i specifically asked if there are any activities i should avoid, and the doctor said "no". i think that response would have been different had she seen any stenosis (thickening of the arteries) or clot, or if my blood pressure or cholesterol had been high, but they're not. from all the test results i look completely healthy. so i'm to just carry on with my regular activities.
phil, i don't think i've met your dad, though i feel like i know him through your blog. ;-)
