i have upgraded to the latest version of moveable type. a version that professes excellent spam blockage.
this silly photograph is my test post. comments are open. will the spammers get me?
Posted by xta at January 29, 2007 11:22 PM | TrackBackI saw a fun window decal this weekend:
DUDE
Frankensteined from two regular DUKE stickers.
I loved it. It's even better than the collaged-up "State University School of College" I saw long ago when I was an undergrad.
Posted by: Phil at January 30, 2007 1:46 AMHello! Not a spammer! Hope the new version of MT works like magic.
Also, that license plate is kind of true.
Posted by: minty at January 30, 2007 7:47 AMBuah ha ha ha ha ha!
Hope anti-spambot coverage works...almost went with the 'pretend spam' comment, but didn't want to scare you or ban myself.
Posted by: Spammer Jammer at January 30, 2007 2:37 PMOkay so how goes the spamalot?
I'm not sure if that license plate if for drinking or against it? Is it saying that we are only honest when we are drunk? Because that would indicate to ME that we should all drink and be more honest.
in the last few days a few spam comments have actually made it through the filters and have gotten posted.
still, the new version of MT is catching *a lot* of spam. a jaw-dropping amount, really.
verdict:
pretty damn impressive.
whoa.
let me alter my verdict a bit.
this new version of MT catches a lot of spam, yes. but it apparently thinks that *every* comment is spam. (including my own "verdict" comment that i just made!)
i went through the junk folder and discovered all of the above comments. i had no idea you'd posted them. i tagged them all "not junk" and they're not posted normally.
hrm... more investigation is needed. clearly.

Wassa matter with 'ya! Ya don't like Spam? ;)
FWIW, I get very little spam via Typepad. That's with averaging well over 100 hits/day (all blogs combined).
